The Story Behind Ali’i Kona Coffee

Thirty years ago, when I first built my home in Holualoa town, surrounded by vibrant coffee farms, a quiet dream began to take root: to one day connect my passion for architecture with the art of gardening and farming that I grew with. My work designing coffee processing buildings for other farmers deepened my understanding of Kona coffee, all while my own children and grandchildren played among our coffee trees.

Three decades later, that dream has blossomed into Alii Kona Coffee.

Our gardens, below, are nestled at 900–1000 feet on the foothills of Hualalai Mountain. Here, our coffee trees thrive in rich volcanic soil, producing what we believe is the best Kona Coffee. This heritage of family, passion, and perfect elevation is why we can promise: "Aloha at First Sip!"
